What is POAP?

• Proof of Attendance protocol. the infrastructure enables the minting of memories via POAPs. set through a combination of smart contracts.
• A POAP collection is one or more POAPs reserved with an email address or minted to an Ethereum address
• POAP is a curated ecosystem. Suitability of event, editorial and production quality, proper distribution, and issuer history are all factors considered by the POAP Curation Body.
• A conference, party, livestream, etc., for which an issuer creates a POAP drop.
• A Secret is used to distribute POAPs through the use of an issuer-selected word or phrase that collectors use to mint or reserve a POAP via the POAP app
• Since POAPs are NFTs, they’re minted and secured on a blockchain. By default, POAPs are minted on Gnosis Chain (previously xDai), an Ethereum-based sidechain that uses a proof-of-stake mechanism.
• This allows POAPs to be free for everyone, both for collectors to mint and issuers to distribute. Our interest in the matter is to help brands, individuals, and the rest of the world build toward better ways of engaging.

Distribution Methods

• every POAP drop is unique and will need a password to gain access to.
• users must have access to the POAP app to secure their POAP
• when collecting your POAP users might experience a time consuming task for the system to distribute all the POAPs one by one unless the magic dispenser is used. but it will be a secure experience.
• POAP Secrets - are used to distribute POAPs through the use of an issuer-selected word phrase that collectors user to claim POAP via the app. secrets may be used for twitter spaces and discord stages
• Delivery - POAPs delivery tool is a whitelist system that allows ETH wallets to be eligible for a mint for a POAP.

Utility / Use Case

• POAPs are a gift from issuers to collectors that acknowledge the non-material (and, yet, invaluable) contributions that members of a community contribute to the collective health of the social organism in the form of time, energy, attention, participation, goodwill, talent, and other forms of prosocial activity.
